I DRIVE A BUS ALL DAY TWELVE HOURS AND LOVE MAORI FOOD ESPECIALLY BOIL UPS, WELL THERE IS ONE BOIL UP THAT I LOVE TO COOK THE BEST AND IT IS TASTY LOW IN FAT AND I FOUND A WAY TO TAKE IT TO WORK IN A PIE FORM , EVERYONE LOVES IT, ITS EASY TO MAKE AND YOU CAN MAKE IT UP IN A BIG POT , THICKEN IT USE WHAT YOU WANT AND FREEZE THE REST FOR A COLD WINTERS DAY

Ingredients

  • 1 ROLL OF CORNED BRISKET
  • ONE LARGE ONION
  • ONE LARGE CARROT
  • 4 LARGE POTATOES
  • 1 KG OF FROZEN MIXED VEGETABLES
  • 1 LARGE BUNCH OF FRESH WATERCRESS
  • SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE
  • 2 PKTS ONION SOUP
  • ONE PKT OF S.R PASTRY SHEETS

Directions

  1. PLACE BRISKET IN A SIZABLE POT ALONG WITH PEELED AND CHOPPED VEGES AND FROZEN VEGE
  2. ADD SALT AND PEPPER TO YOUR TASTE,
  3. COVER JUST ABOVE THE INGREDIENTS WITH WATER , BRING TO THE BOIL , THEN TURN ON LOW AND COOK AS A CASSEROLE.
  4. TASTE AND ADD MORE VEGES OF YOUR CHOICE OR SALT AND PEPPER
  5. WHEN THE FILLING IS GOOKED TAKE THE BRISKET OUT AND CHOP IT UP INTO BITE SIZE PEICES AND ADD BACK INTO THE STEW
  6. THICKEN WITH EITHER THE THICKENING OF YOUR CHOICE OR MY CHOICE IS GOOD OLD FASIONED PLAIN FLOUR, PREPARE THE PASTRY INTO PIE TINS AND ADD COOLED MIXTURE

I use a pie making machine bought from Harvey Normon and I tell you if you make this mixture right you will love it,, I have not met anyone who didn't like MY PIES.. its the first bite that hooks you.. you can add mashed potato to the pot with it if you want . mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummmmmmmmmmmmmm
