Hearty Steak And Kidney Stew
Steak and kidney stew is a nz favourite, I've just added that extra bit of flavour that makes you want to come back for more.

Ingredients
- 1kg Chuck steak cubed
- 500gm kdneys sliced
- 2 T oil
- 2 heaped teaspoons chicken stock
- 2 heaped teaspoons beef stock
- 1 t garlic granules
- 1 carrot diced small
- 1 onion chopped
- 1/2 c frozen peas
- 1 t vegemite
- 1/4 c balck sauce
- 1/4 c tomato sauce
Directions
- Brown both meats in heated oil.
- add onion and carrot, cook for a couple of mins.
- mix stocks with 1 cup boiling water, add to meat.
- add garlic, vegemite, and sauces.
- bring to the boil and simmer on low for approx 1 hour until meat is tender.
- add peas 5 minutes before cooking is finished.
- Thicken with cornflour and water to liking.
- Serve with heaps of mashed potatoe.
