Creamy Chicken Pie


A delightfully creamy chicken pie, with crispy pastry. I made this recipe up and now it is my families favourite dish. This is so tasty, you'll be back for more!

Ingredients

  • 1 cooked and shredded chicken
  • 1 onion
  • 1 stick celery
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 cup peas
  • 4 button mushrooms
  • 1 T wholegrain mustard
  • 1 T chicken stock
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 T flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • salt and pepper
  • Ready rolled flakey pastry

    Directions

    1. Make a roux sauce with the butter, flour and milk. Dice all the veges and add to the roux with all the other ingrediants, except chicken.. Cool the mixture in the fridge, then add chicken. Place pastry over pie dish, and spoon in the filling, place pastry over the tip, glaze with beaten egg or milk, make sure to put some pie holes in the top and bake in oven at about 180 degrees for about an hour or until pastry is crispy. Serve with a green salad. (If you wanted to make a potato topped pie, omit the pastry top and use mashed potato.)
