Chicken Comfort Food.(The Kind Our Great Grannies Made But Had No Electric.)


This ia an old favourite of ours. I dreamit about it one night, and had to make it the next day. Its awsume on a cold winters night. It reminds you of the cooking that great gramnda made.Try it you will love it and its so easy.

Ingredients

  • 2 x Chicken breasts.
  • 2 x rasher of streaky bacon.
  • 3 x Chicken gravey packets.
  • 2 carrotts.
  • 2 x large potatoes.
  • 2 x White kumera.
  • 2 x orange Kumera.
  • ¼ piece of pumpkin.
  • 1/4 red onion.
  • Small amount of ovile oil.
  • 1 x chicken oxo cube.
  • 2 x Parsnips.

    Directions

    1. Cut up chicken breasts.
    2. Cut up bacon.
    3. Cut up onion.
    4. Place all three with oil in a frypan, brown.
    5. Put into a SLOW cooker,
    6. Peel and cut up all the vegetables, into bite sizes.
    7. put all into the slow cooker.
    8. Mix all packets of chicken graveymix with chicken oxo cube in a jug fill with water. stir. Add to the slow cooker.
    9. Cook on high untill is cooked, (about 4 -5 HJours.)
    10. Thicken with corn flour if needed.
    11. Serve on toast, with bread or a green vegetable, I like peas with ours.
    12. You cant bet this on a cold night. Enjoy.
    Serves Amount Cooking Time Prep Time
    6-8 People. depending on how fill the cooker is. 4-5 hours. 1/2 hour.
