Ingredients
- 4 carrots ( more depending on how many you are feeding)
- 3 to 4 parsnips
- 1 cup of cheese ( grated )
- 1 cup of bread crumbs
- 2Tlb spoons of flour
- 1/2 of milk maybe a bit more
- enough butter to make a white sauce
- 1/2 cup of chippes eg, salt and vinegar or chicken or plain( thats why kids love it as it has potatoe chips in it ) you dont need to put them in but you cant really taste them but the kids love the thought of them being in it .
Directions
- thinly slice the carrots and parsnips ( you can partly cook them if you like i do then this dish doesn't take that long) grease a casserole dish, put the carrots and parsnips in the casserole dish.
- Using the flour, butter, and milk make a white sauce. Pour the white sauce over the carrots and parsnips.
- In a bowl mix together the cup of bread crumbs , 3/4 of the cheese and the crushed chippes, then spread this over the parsnips and carrots.
- spread the rest of the cheese over the top then bake in the oven on about 180 for a hour or until the top is golden and the carrots and parsnips are cooked ( this might take a bit longer if you dont pre cook the carrots and parsnips ...... but this is very yummy
