Down-On-The-Farm Pancakes


Dust off the old iron skillet and begin the Sunday morning fry-up. It only takes one pancake from this 100+ year-old recipe to fill your tummy and warm your soul.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 tea-spoon baking powder
  • 1 tea-spoon salt
  • 1 table-spoon sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 4 table-spoon melted butter

Directions

  1. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add the sugar.
  2. In a seperate bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk and beat again. Use this mixture to moisten the dry mixture, adding the liquid gradually and beating thoroughly to eliminate any lumps.
  3. Finally stir in the melted butter and bake golden brown on a pre-heated skillet or pan. Grease according to the type of skillet or pan used.
  4. Use iron skillet or griddle for best results.
