Kiwifruit Chutney


What a great way to use up all that kiwifruit. So cheap and delicious. I love to eat this with cheese sandwiches or as an accompaniment to cold meat!

Ingredients

  • 12 Kiwifruit, peeled and sliced
  • 2 Bananas, peeled and chopped
  • 3 Onions, chopped fine
  • Grated zest of 1 Lemon
  • Juice of 3 Lemons
  • 1 cup Raisins
  • 1 cup Raw Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Allspice
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cardamom
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 cup White Vinegar

Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer uncovered for around an hour, until thickened.
  2. Pour into dry, sterilised jars.
Serves Amount Cooking Time Prep Time
30 serves Makes around 4 cups of chutney. 1 hour. 15 minutes
