If a recipe has lasted through the generations it must be good. This one has been around for a while (hence the name!) and it's delicious. So easy to make but definately packs a flavour punch. This pie is perfect served hot or cold. Take it on a picnic or enjoy with a side salad for a light lunch.

Sarah, I have this exact recipe and I have been known to make it when our family goes on picnics etc, it was handed down to me from my mother, she has made it on and off for over forty odd years, she said she got the recipe from one of her friends and it was one that was handed down through her family, it has a great flavour and texture, easy to slice and it holds together well, I wish you well with this one.
